Observe and experience historic and beautiful Airy Hall Plantation in a new and unique way!
Hear the call of the horn, visit Lowcountry Hunt's American Foxhounds, and see the plantation and horses up close and personal as you ride in a "Tally Ho" Wagon and participate in the annual tradition of Opening Meet.
The Tally Ho wagon follows the riders and hounds on the hunt around the plantation. The wagon is pulled either by horses, tractor, or pickup truck while you sit on hay bales/benches.
Enjoy a stirrup cup upon your arrival as well as a delicious catered hunt "breakfast" after the ride comprised of many Southern staples as you take in the beauty of moss covered oaks along the Ashepoo River. Open bar beverages, and soft drinks, are included in your event price.
About Lowcountry Hunt:
Set in the arcadian ACE Basin region of South Carolina, the Lowcountry Hunt (LH) was founded in the spring of 2006 and recognized by the Masters of Foxhounds Association in 2007. Through the generosity of landowners/partners LH is bringing the centuries-old tradition of foxhunting to this area. Together we enjoy hunting on some of the oldest and most beautiful plantations in the state. From the salt marshes to the groves of ancient live oaks, the landscapes are undeniably breathtaking. To commemorate the traditions of the region, our hunt colors are indigo blue and gold in honor of two vital historical crops: indigo and Carolina gold rice. In 2010 LH was awarded the prestigious National Hunting Habitat Conservation Award in conjunction with The Lowcountry Open Land Trust. For additional information on how to hunt with Lowcountry please contact Elizabeth Howard at ihuntfoxes@gmail.com.
