New Event Just ADDED!

Birds, Bees, Turtles and Trees Walk

with the The Audubon Society

at the Audubon Newhall Preserve

The Audubon Society would like to introduce our members to the Audubon Newhall Preserve and it's history and the special ecosystems that exist.

Led by Master Naturalist Debbie Boots, an experienced naturalist and birder on the Island.

Goal:Come and discover how this rare 50-acre maritime forest has been preserved to sustain an amazing native living community.  On an easy stroll around the pond, we will visit five diverse habitats to identify birds and the insects and berries on which they depend.  Our guide will point out the historic and current medicinal and culinary usage of native plants; and highlight the new pollinator garden with host and nectar plants for bees and butterflies (thanks in part to grant from WAHHI).

Preserve address:  55 Palmetto Bay Road, Hilton Head across from Grayco's (Do not use GPS)
